How to Change the Chip on a Canon PGBK 225

How to Change the Chip on a Canon PGBK 225 thumbnail
A sharp utility knife is needed for this job.

The Canon PGBK 225 is also referred to as the PGI 225. It is a blank ink cartridge used in a wide range of Canon inkjet printers. When the ink cartridge runs low, it can be refilled with ink as an alternative to buying a new cartridge. The chip built into the cartridge tracks how much the cartridge is used to gauge when it will be empty. Change the chip with a new one from a refill kit to ensure the cartridge can still be used in your printer.
