How to Increase Binding Size on Skis thumbnail
Specialized ski shops provide valuable tips on finding the best binding size.

Traverse your favorite snow slopes with a properly adjusted skiing gear. Bindings directly affect your skiing performance, so it is imperative that they are securely and properly adjusted. Bindings connect you to your skis and provide boot retention and release. Making minor tweaks to your gear is fine, but it is best to bring your bindings to a certified ski technician to ensure the bindings will operate safely.

Instructions

    • 1

Loosen the large screws located in the front and back of the toe and heel bindings. These screws allow you to increase the binding size on your skis depending on your preferred boot size.

    • 2

Put on your ski boots. Position your footing on the binding and slide the boot in starting from the toe side and then slide the back end of the binding up against your heel. Add space to increase the binding size to fit your boots.

    • 3

      Tighten the screws.

Tips & Warnings

  • Adjust the proper DIN setting for your bindings for the best fit. DIN stands for Deutsches Institut für Normung, an industry-adopted scale of standardized settings for ski bindings. Refer to a DIN chart or consult your local ski shop to find the appropriate setting based on your weight, height, boot sole length and ability level.
