Take care of you earrings to enjoy them a long time.

Removing an earring is a simple process. Most traditional earrings have a stud connected to the earring. The stud attaches to the backing through a small groove, or with a snap fastener. Some studs are curved and slip right into the ear without needing a backing. After getting an earring put in, taking it out is rather easy. Be sure to use proper care and be careful not to lose the backing of the earring when removing it from your ear. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Clean your hands by washing them with soap and warm water.

    • 2

Grip the front of the earring with two fingers.

    • 3

Hold the back of the earring behind your ear with two fingers from your other hand.

    • 4

Pull the earring forward, through your ear until the stud is free. Hold the backing the entire time so you don't drop it, or accidentally pull into the ear hole.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remove hoop earrings the same way you would stud earrings. If the hoop earring is secured by a clasp baking, flip the clasp open with your thumb and finger before pulling the stud free. If the earrings are the endless hoop kind simply pull the stud free of the hoop behind the ear and through the piercing to remove it.
