How to Make a Prayer Chain List
Many religious and spiritual groups believe deeply in the power of prayer to help people in need. Oftentimes, several members will organize themselves into a tightly knit community known as a prayer chain. When a struggling individual needs prayer, he calls the leader of the group to ask for assistance. The request is then passed from one person to another in a confidential matter, usually via telephone or email, and the members of the prayer chain immediately begin praying for his particular situation.
Instructions
-
-
1
Designate one person as the head of the prayer chain. Designate two others as assistant prayer chain coordinators in case the leader is out of town or unavailable.
-
2
Ask for volunteers for your prayer chain. Send out an email to your entire group, place a notice in the organization's newsletter or bulletin, make an announcement the next time your group meets or display a sign-up sheet so participants can register their information.
-
-
3
Compile a list of the names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of the people who respond to your request for prayer warriors.
-
4
Distribute a copy of the list to each person on the prayer chain.
-
5
Start at the top of the list and contact the first person on it. That person in turn contacts the person below her name, and the procedure continues until each person has been contacted with the prayer request.
-
6
Ask that the last person on the chain contact the head to verify that the prayer chain has been completed and all people have been contacted.

Ask volunteers to request that their name be removed when they no longer wish to participate.
