How to Make a Processor File with the .wps Extension
A file with the .wps file extension is a Microsoft Works word processor file. Microsoft discontinued the file extension in 2006 in favor of the .doc extension used with Microsoft Word documents, then discontinued the Microsoft Works suite in 2010. To create a file with the .wps file extension, use the Works word processor application. The Microsoft Works product suite formerly was installed by default on many Windows operating systems. The minimal Works package includes a word processor, a spreadsheet and a calendar. If Microsoft Works is not installed on your computer, you still can download it from amazon.com as of late July 2011.
