How to Fold Miniature Origami Roses
Origami flowers, particularly roses, are delicate and elegant paper crafts that you can make rather easily. Dress up a wrapped gift with miniature origami roses, make a bouquet to give to a special someone, or scatter some on your dining table as a fanciful decoration for a dinner party. Origami paper comes in all the colors of natural roses, so you can make your creations look realistic.

1
Fold a piece of origami paper in half both vertically and horizontally then unfold it. The crease lines will have created four quadrants.
-
2
Cut the paper along the crease lines to make four equal-size squares, which can be used to create four miniature roses.
-
-
3
Position one of the four squares with the front side facing down. Fold the square in half, to create a vertical crease line, then unfold it.
-
4
Fold the top edge of the piece of paper down to the bottom edge.
-
5
Fold the right-hand edge over to the left-hand edge and form a triangle by slipping your finger under the top layer at the bottom edge and spreading the paper to the right. Press down on the paper to form diagonal creases for the triangle.
-
6
Take the left and right corner tips of the paper and fold them up to the top tip, creating two triangles.
-
7
Insert your finger into the center slips of both triangles and pull down to form two squares. Press down on the paper to form the square crease lines.
-
8
Fold the two upper corners on the squares meeting at the center down to match the outer corner of the square.
-
9
Fold the top tip to the bottom edge and unfold.
-
10
Hold the top side layers and lift them up to the tip on the top and press down on the other layers.
-
11
Turn the paper to the other side and lift the top tip to a standing position. Place a finger between the slip on each side of the standing triangle and pull the right side slip to the center to stand perpendicular to the standing side. Press down on the center crease line. Pull the other side slip to the top center to stand perpendicular to the first standing side. Press down on the slip's outer corner so that it's positioned at the center crease line.
-
12
Place the paper into your palm and twist the four standing sides three times clockwise to finish forming the rose. Pinch the bottom center to secure the twirled paper.
-
13
Repeat the above steps to create additional roses.
