How to Troubleshoot a KitchenAid KESC307

The KitchenAid KESC307 is a convection range with electronic cooktop controls, a broil feature, removable storage drawer and surface light. Most of the range features are fairly easy to use and control and users should find the range to operate with little trouble under most circumstances. Nevertheless, sometimes user error or range malfunction may lead to problems that prevent the appliance from working properly and troubleshooting is needed. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Flip the top of the range backguard up and pull up on the glass if the surface light is burnt out but wait for the oven to be cool. Hold the florescent tube on both ends and turn 90 degrees in either direction and lift up. Replace the light with a new 20 watt cool white florescent light tube.

Reset the clock if "PF" appears on the display or the display is flashing. Set by pressing "Clock" and number pads, followed by "Clock" again.

    • 3

Wait five seconds if a touch pad stops working after pushing it several times. Then try again. If the control pad will not work after the reset, push "Cancel/Off," as a delay start was likely programmed and must be canceled.

    • 4

Open the door and then hold down the "Control Lock" pad if nothing on the oven controls will work. Hold for five seconds and then release. Repeat to set the control lock again.

    • 5

Open the oven door and press "Cancel/Off" for one second if the Sabbath Mode has been turned on and won't turn off. In Sabbath Mode, the oven has power but appears to be non-functioning. Press and hold the number "6" for five seconds and then press "Cancel/Off" to cancel the mode.

    • 6

Push in and turn the control knobs to the right to turn on the cooktop burners if the knob is not turning or the burner will not heat. Reset or replace the fuse or circuit breaker if needed.

    • 7

Preheat the oven before cooking if cooking results are not as anticipated and move the temperature up or down as needed. Keep an eye on food while cooking or baking and allow at least 2 inches of space around all sides of the cookware in the oven.

    • 8

Run the cooling fan if the self-cleaning cycle will not operate and make sure the oven door is fully closed.

    • 9

Press "Cancel/Off" and make a new selection if an error code flashes on the display. Press "Cancel/Off" again if this does not clear the code and contact KitchenAid for service at 800-422-1230.
