How to Make a Shadow Box Collage
A shadow box is a wood or metal display case that you can use to show off your custom artwork -- such as your children's collages. Make a collage directly in the shadow box using straight pins, glue dots and scrapbook archival glue. Be creative. Be resourceful. Use materials that you already have around your house. The beauty of a collage is that it meshes together lots of different colors and materials.
Things You'll Need
- Shadow box
- Straight pins
- Glue dots
- Scrapbook archival glue
- Craft paper scraps
- Fabric patches
- Tissue paper
- Buttons
- 3-D paper stickers
Instructions
-
-
1
Place the shadow box on a flat workspace. Open the glass cover.
-
2
Insert a piece of craft paper in the bottom of the shadow box as a base for your collage.
-
-
3
Glue scraps of craft paper, fabric and buttons in a mix-and-match fashion. The scrapbook glue will allow the paper and fabric scraps to lay flat on the craft paper. The glue dots on the back of buttons and 3-D paper stickers will allow these novelties to appear raised on the collage for a different look for the art piece. Allow the collage to dry.

4
Place the cover back on the shadow box and hang the shadow box on the wall.
