More than one user can connect to the same iTunes program.

ITunes is used to transfer media to a variety of Apple devices, including iPhones and the classic iPod. Once you activate a device in iTunes, the program will remember the device when it is connected in the future. If you get rid of one of your devices, no need exists to keep it active in your iTunes account. You can remove the device, but be forewarned that you cannot reverse the process.

Instructions

    • 1

Open iTunes on your computer and click the "iTunes Store" link in the sidebar, which runs down the left side of your iTunes window.

    • 2

Sign in to your iTunes account, if you haven't already -- the "Sign In" link is located in the top right corner of the iTunes Store screen. Once you see your email address where the "Sign In" link used to be, you are connected to your account.

    • 3

Click the arrow immediately to the right of your email address and then select "Account" from the drop-down menu. If prompted, re-enter your account password.

    • 4

Click the "Manage Devices" button in the top section of the Account Information screen.

    • 5

Click the gray "Remove" button to the right of a device to deactivate it from your account. Click the "Done" button to close the "Manage Devices" screen.
