1
Set the cooktop control knobs correctly by pushing in the control knob before turning it clockwise to activate the cooktop if the unit will not work. Plug the power cord into a live outlet or reset or replace the circuit breaker or fuse if the entire range is nonoperational.
-
2
Match the size of the cookware with the size of the heating element if there is a lot of heat around the cookware during use. The cookware should match the element within ½ inch for proper heating and cooking. If food is cooking too quickly or too slowly, adjust the temperature accordingly, and monitor the food while cooking. The floor under the range must be level and strong enough to support the range; move the range if needed to another location or place a piece of plywood under the unit.

3
Push "Stop/Clear" if "Set Clock" appears on the display; this means that a power failure has occurred. Push "Clock" and the number keypads to set the time of day and "Clock" to confirm.
-
4
Close the oven door completely if the "Self Clean" feature won't work, and let the oven cool completely before attempting the self-clean process. For the best results, remember to clean the inside of the oven and the oven door to remove hard or excessive spills before cleaning.
-
5
Position racks evenly in the oven, and preheat before cooking if baking results are overcooked or undercooked. Turn the oven heat up or down slightly, and keep an eye on food while baking. Resist the urge to open the door during cooking, as outside air affects the cooking temperature.
-
6
Press "Off" if an error code with a number and letter shows up on the display, and then reprogram the unit. Contact KitchenAid at 800-422-1230 if the error code comes back within 15 minutes.
