Wrap pretend gifts for decorations. Collect a variety of empty boxes that vary in shape and size. Unroll a roll of wrapping paper to determine how much paper to use for each box. Cut the paper accordingly and wrap the box using the wrapping paper and clear tape. Tie a bow around the gift using ribbon or string. Place the wrapped "presents" in groups of three or four around your church or underneath a Christmas tree.

Set out a decorative dish of ornaments. Find a clear glass or plastic bowl or dish. Place several solid-colored Christmas tree balls into the dish until it is completely full. Create several centerpieces like this and set one on each of the tables in your church's fellowship hall or in the lobby.

Create Christmas candle holders to set out. Wash a small recycled glass jar that originally held jelly, salsa or other food item. Wrap a string of ribbon around the top of the glass jar where the cap would normally screw on. Fill the jar about halfway with festive-smelling potpourri, such as an evergreen or cinnamon scent. Nestle a small candle in between the potpourri and light it. Set the candle holders around various areas of your church.

Create a festive recycled wreath. Set a round object, such as a CD or jar cover, onto a paper plate and outline the object using a pencil. Cut out the circle you made using a scissors. Use your hands to crumple up small scraps of wrapping paper and ribbon. Cover one side the paper plate with white glue and stick on the crumpled up scraps, gluing the scraps closely together. Cut a string of ribbon approximately six inches long, fold it in half and glue it onto the backside of the paper plate near the top. Hang up your wreath anywhere in the church.

Make and hang paper snowflakes. Fold a piece of white printer paper in half lengthwise. Fold the paper again at a 60-degree angle twice to form a triangle. Cut off the parts of the paper that extend outside of the triangle near the bottom. Cut into the triangle numerous times with no particular pattern. Unfold the paper to reveal a snowflake. Tape the snowflakes to walls or windows or hang them from the ceiling using string.
