Use images of Artemis to help style your costume.

Let out your inner Olympian for your next Halloween or themed party event with a Greek goddess costume. Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, nature and the moon, is the twin sister of sun gold Apollo and the child of Zeus, the king of the gods, and the Titan Leto. Artemis asked Zeus for permission to never marry and is therefore known as the virgin goddess in the Greek god pantheon. Create an Artemis costume using borrowed materials as well as those from costume supply stores.

Instructions

    • 1

Borrow a short white dress or look for one in a consignment shop. The dress can feature one or two straps and should have a loose fit. It should hit the knees or 1 or 2 inches above the knees.

    • 2

Wrap silk ivy garlands around a piece of craft wire to fashion a headband. Spray-paint the headband gold and allow it to dry for about 20 minutes before wearing it.

    • 3

Tie a gold sash around your waist as a belt. Tie on a pair of leather Greek-style sandals, or those that lace up the calf.

    • 4

Style your hair in a Greek goddess-type updo -- think piles of curls heaped on top of your head with assorted tendrils falling down. Wear hair extensions if desired to get goddess hair if your own hair is a bit thin. Place the headband among your curls.

    • 5

Define your eyes with black mascara and eyeliner and sweep gold eyeshadow over your eyelids. Smooth out skin with a tinted moisturizer and apply a creamy pink blush to get a dewy effect. Paint your lips with a neutral lip liner and finish with watery lip gloss.

Carry a bow and quiver of arrows on your back to complete the costume. Look for costume bows and arrows in costume stores.

Tips & Warnings
