How to Make Baby Cereal at Home From White Rice
Making your own baby food is a wise economical option for families on a budget. Jar foods such as puréed green beans, apples and spaghetti are perhaps more common baby foods to make at home, but you can also make your own baby cereal at home from white rice. Does this Spark an idea?

Cook white rice per label directions. Typically, rice is made with a 2-to-1 ratio of water to rice and cooked for about 15 to 20 minutes, though, instant rices are usually made with equal amounts of rice and water and cook more quickly.

Blend the cooked rice in a blender or food processor until it is thin and smooth.

Add water, breast milk or liquid formula 1 tsp. at a time to the rice and blend. Do this to make the rice thinner until you get the right consistency for your baby --- the younger the child, the more liquid the cereal should be.

Tips & Warnings
Freeze homemade rice cereal in ice cube trays and place it in a sealable plastic bag. Then, take the cubes out one at a time as you need them to thaw and feed your baby.
