What you do with your cooked steak is up to you.

Broiling a filet steak in the oven is a healthy way to avoid some of the oil that is often needed in cooking it on the stove. In addition, broiling serves as an alternative to cooking the steak on the barbecue on a rainy day. Unless you want steak that is well done, you need to set the oven to broil to generate enough heat to cook the meat well on the outside and leave it less cooked in the middle.
