GE Advantium Oven Directions

The GE Advantium combines all the features of conventional, convection and microwave ovens into a single appliance. GE Advantium ovens cook the inside and outside of foods simultaneously using a combination of halogen lights, ceramic heaters, microwave rays and a convection system, providing cooking that is as much as eight times faster than a traditional oven. Use the Advantium's Speedcook setting or use the oven for convection baking, broiling, toasting, warming, microwaving or proofing bread. The oven's features are simple to learn and use. Instructions

      Turn the selector dial on the Advantium oven control panel to set the hours, minutes and a.m./p.m. designation for the oven clock. Press the dial after each selection.

      Press the "Speedcook" button on the control panel. Rotate the selector dial to select a type of food from the pre-programmed Speedcook menu; press the dial. Continue to turn the selector dial to choose the desired food, amount, size and doneness. Press the dial to confirm each selection. Press the "Start/Pause" button to start cooking.

      Press the "Custom Speedcook" button to set your own program. Rotate the selector dial until the desired cooking time is displayed. Press the dial to enter. Use the same process to set the upper, lower, microwave and convection power levels. Press the "Start/Pause" button to start the program.

      Press the "Convection Bake/Broil" button on the control panel. Press the selector dial to choose the "Conv Bake" option. Rotate the dial until the desired oven temperature is displayed. Press to enter. Turn the selector dial to choose "Yes" or "No" when the "Preheat Your Oven?" prompt appears. Press the dial. Use the same process to set the cooking time. Set the cooking time immediately if you choose to bypass the preheating option; wait until you hear the preheating signal if you decided to preheat the oven before cooking. Press the "Start/Pause" button.

      Press the "Convection Bake/Broil" button and turn the dial to select the "Broil" or "Toast" option. Press to enter. Use the same process to preheat the oven or bypass preheating when the "Preheat Your Oven?" prompt is displayed. Set the cooking time and press the "Start/Pause" button.

      Press the "Cook" button under the "Microwave" heading on the control panel to access the oven's microwave functions. Turn the dial to highlight the "Cook By Time" option. Press to enter. Set the desired cook time and press the selector dial to enter. Press the "Start/Pause" button.

Tips & Warnings

  • Press the "Warm/Proof" button and rotate and press the dial to select the "Hold Food Warm" option. Press the "Start/Pause" button.

  • Press the "Warm/Proof" button. Turn the selector dial to "Proof Bread" and press to enter. The oven starts immediately; there is no need to press the "Start/Pause" button.

  • Press the "Clear/Off" button if you see sparks in the oven. Make sure that no metal or foil is touching the sides of the oven. Reset the cooking program and press "Start/Pause."
