How to Create Group Memberships on Facebook
You can use Facebook's Groups function to create a dynamic group where you and those you invite can stay up to date on topics that matter to you. When you create a group on Facebook, you set the membership permissions, dictating who can see the group and whether or not they can view and write comments. With Facebook Groups, you can exercise a high level of control and keep your group's membership as exclusive as you want.

Tips & Warnings
Setting your group to "Open" means that any Facebook user can see it, read comments and post on the group news feed. "Closed" means that Facebook users can see the group page but they cannot post comments to it. If you set your Facebook Group to "Secret," Facebook users who you do not invite to the group cannot search for it or see anything related to the group at all, including comments, photos or members.
