How to Bead a Friendship Bracelet
A beaded friendship bracelet is a decorative and functional piece of memorabilia that kids can create to remember their dearest friends. Whether you are beading friendship bracelets at the end of summer camp, for a kid birthday party activity, or as a bonding ceremony between friends, use a simple technique that is easy and involves limited wire-working. A memory wire bracelet is the simplest type of bead friendship bracelet.

1
Have the kids determine for which of their friends they want to make a friendship bracelet. The idea behind a friendship bracelet is for friends to wear matching bracelets, so everyone knows.
-
2
Provide an assortment of beads to be strung on the bracelet. Let each kid pick out her favorite beads from the bunch. As part of the friendship bracelet-making project, the bracelet should incorporate everyone's favorite beads as a symbol of friendship.

3
Measure the memory wire around the kids' wrists and cut it with wire cutters. Decide if the memory wire should wrap once, twice, or more around the kids' wrists. This determines how long to cut each piece.
-
4
Secure one end of the memory wire with the round nose pliers. Grab the end of the wire with the pliers and curl it under until it touches the rest of the wire, making a tight loop.
-
5
Bead the bracelets by stringing on one bead at a time. The first bead you put on the bracelet should be secure on the looped end, and not slip off. If it does, make your end more secure by making the loop larger.
-
6
Secure the other end of the bracelet once the final beads are on. Use the same process for creating a loop at the other side of the wire.
