How to Make a Bridal Shower Funny
A bridal shower is a celebration where friends and family gather to wish the bride-to-be well. The traditional approach to a bridal shower involves food, socializing and gift-giving. You can add a few funny elements to a bridal shower by changing up a few of the items and activities presented throughout the gathering. Imparting a sense of humor for such as event works well when you have group who likes to laugh and have a good time.

Make invitations silly to get the funny theme started before the party ever happens. This will let others know that a lighthearted and humorous time is in store for all during the bridal shower. Suggest on the invitations that each guest bring one gag gift in addition to one selected off of the gift registry.

Ask all guests to select at least one photo of the bride to be from a prior period of time. Suggest photos showing bad hairstyles, poor fashion sense or silly poses. Request all photos be mailed to you prior to the party. Make a collage to hang on the wall during the party which pays homage to the bride-to-be and shows the assortment of funny pictures.

Order a traditional cake to be served as dessert. Talk to the bake shop you are using and request a smaller, extra cake be made for the event as well. You can have a funny cake made in themes such as one decorated with a ball and chain, a cake with handcuffs on top and the saying "Goodbye Freedom," or if you really want to get everyone laughing, have a cake made listing the names of all her ex-boyfriends with large crosses drawn through the names and the groom-to-be listed with a circle around his name.

Set up a bar area for use during the bridal shower. Make sure to have note cards with made-up drink names. You can use traditional drink recipes, but give them funny names relevant to the event. For example, ideas for fake drink names include "Last Change to Back Out," "What Was I Thinking?" and "Someone Talk Me Out of This!"

Distribute the traditional gifts first and allow the bride-to-be to open all presents. Before she has a chance to get up from her seat, shower her with the gag gifts brought by all guests. Make sure to take lots of pictures and make plenty of comments on the funny gifts.
