How to Make a Tulle Garter
Make a sexy tulle garter to wear underneath your wedding dress or to give to a special friend or family member as a keepsake wedding gift. You can make the garter in traditional wedding white and embellish it with a satin ribbon in a color that coordinates with your wedding color scheme. If you're feeling devilish, make the garter from black tulle and dress it up with a fiery red ribbon.

1
Measure around your upper thigh and add about 30 percent to this measurement. Cut four pieces of 3-inch wide tulle ribbon and one piece of 1/2-inch wide satin ribbon to this length.
-
2
Lay the lengths of tulle on top of each other and lay the ribbon on top, down the center of the tulle. Pin it in place to keep the ribbon from moving.

3
Sew two lines of stitches up the ribbon to join the ribbon and the four pieces of tulle. Sew one line along the left outer edge of the ribbon and one along the right outer edge of the ribbon. You should now have a channel in the ribbon, in between the two rows of stitching.

4
Cut a piece of 1/4-inch wide elastic to the circumference of your thigh, minus 1/2 inch. Slide one end of the elastic into the end of a bodkin and insert it into the channel in the ribbon. Sew the ends of the elastic to the ends of the tulle.
-
5
Bring the short ends of the garter together with the ribbon facing inward. Sew the short ends together to complete the garter.
