How to Make a Glass Wing
Glass wings come in all shapes and sizes, so when making a glass wing, think about which type of wing you intend to create. Angel, fairy or butterfly wings are all delicate and beautiful in their unique ways; the forms and shapes of wings can be large or small. Using stained glass adds some dazzle to your wing design, so experiment and research the exact wing design you intend to create before you begin.

1
Sketch your wing design on a piece of heavy-duty cardboard. Draw out the different shapes and parts of the wing. Outline these shapes with a black marker and cut out the shapes of your wings like a jigsaw puzzle.
-
2
Place your wing sections onto the glass. Co-ordinate the color of glass you want with the wing sections. Once you are satisfied, use masking tape to stick them onto the glass.

3
With each piece of glass and using a glass cutter, cut around your wing shapes. Wear safety goggles and gloves and take extra precaution when doing this step.

4
Place copper foil around the edges of the glass to solder them together. Do this for all your wing sections; solder each section back together like a puzzle. This re-formulates your wing.
-
5
Solder a final copper foil around the whole outline of the glass wing to mold it tightly together.
