Instructions

    • 1

Identify the fabric that your Gucci shirt is made of. Certain fabrics require a particular washing cycle than others. For instance, synthetic fabrics, such as nylon and rayon, should be washed in warm water, while a natural fiber shirt, such as cotton, can be washed in cold or warm water. Delicate fabrics should be dry-cleaned or washed on a delicate laundry cycle.

See if your Gucci shirt is pre-shrunk by reading the garment tag on the inside. Shirts that are pre-shrunk will not shrink as much when you wash them. Shirts made from natural fibers that are un-shrunk, however, can shrink a couple of sizes in the laundry if the water is warm and the garment spends a long time in a hot dryer. You don't want to shrink your Gucci shirt, unless it is too large on you.

    • 3

Wash your Gucci shirt with a mild laundry detergent to preserve its color. Or, use bleach to keep your white shirt bright and stain-free. If you are worried about a dark Gucci shirt bleeding or fading, wash it in cold water and turn the garment inside out first.

Do not over-dry your Gucci shirt, or it can shrink and fade in color. Do not set your Gucci shirt outside to dry in the sun, as this can fade the color stiffen the material.

    • 5

Store your Gucci shirt in your closet on a hanger, or fold it and keep it in a safe dresser drawer. Folding your shirt will bring about more wrinkles, which you will need to iron out. Hanging the shirt prevents wrinkles from forming and saves the fabric from exposure to the intense heat of an iron.

    • 6

Wrap your Gucci shirt inside of a hanging garment bag, and store it in your closet. If you are really concerned about maintaining the condition of your shirt, a garment bag protects your shirt from exposure to dust, mites, moths and rubbing against other shirts in your closet.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your Gucci shirt has embellishments on it, such as rhinestones, glitter, lace trim, rope or buckles, you can hand wash the shirt to protect the embellishments from becoming loose in the washer and dyer, or get the garment dry-cleaned.
