How to Know Whether a Gucci Watch Is Original
Cheap watches made to look like expensive designer brands are usually easy to spot. They're made of subpar materials and lack the quality of craftmanship that designer watches, such as those made by Gucci, typically possess. However, copycats have gotten better and more precise with their fakes, making it harder and harder to tell with authority which watch is authentic and which isn't. However, if you're in the market to purchase a Gucci watch or have received a vintage one, there are signs to look for which will indicate with certainty whether your watch is an original. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Turn the watch over. The back of the watch must contain the following three engravings: the Gucci logo, the Gucci crest and another design. Fake watches will contain one or two, but not all three, of these elements.
-
2
Place the watch in one hand and shake it gently. The watch should feel significantly heavy. If the watch feels light or the weight isn't very noticeable, it's likely not an original.

3
Turn the face of the watch so that it points directly at your face. The metalware on the frame around the watch face should be so bright and shiny, you can see your own face. If you can't, it's likely to a fake.

4
Examine the interlocking G's. This is a common logo of Gucci and found on a lot of watches. One of the G's should be right side up and facing the right direction. The other G should be upside down and backward. There should be a small space between them as they overlap. If these details are not consistent, the watch is likely a fake.

5
Examine the stones. All stones, such as diamonds, should be set with precision and perfectly spaced from one another. If anything is off or sloppy about this placement, the watch is likely not an original.

Tips & Warnings
All Gucci movements are Swiss. If you see the word "Japan," as some fakes bear, you don't have an authentic watch.
Most Gucci watches have the model number on the back, but not all.
