Velvet Tray
-
1
Paint an unfinished wooden tray with two coats of spray paint. Let the paint dry between coats.
-
2
Use scissors to cut a section of dark colored felt or velvet to fit the inside of the tray. Dark-colored fabrics showcase the metals and stones in the rings better than light-colored fabrics. Spray adhesive onto the tray and press the fabric onto the glue. Let the glue dry at least two hours.
-
-
3
Cut cardstock into small pieces using a paper cutting tool in the desired shape. Thread an embroidery needle with 4 inches of embroidery thread. Tie the ends of the thread together in a knot. Insert the needle through a cardstock cutout, close to an edge.
-
4
Insert the needle through and around the ring band and between the two ends of the thread. Tie the thread in a knot to secure it to the ring. Cut the thread to remove the needle. Write the price of the ring on the cardstock cutout.
-
5
Arrange the rings on the fabric platform to display them for selling.
Plaster Hand
-
6
Pile a softened clump of molding clay onto a flat work surface. The pile should be slightly larger than an open hand and at least 1 inch thick. Press your hand into the center of the clay to make an impression.
-
7
Use a spoon to mix the plaster of Paris with water in a bowl to the consistency of a thick milkshake. Fill the clay mold with plaster. Let the plaster set up for one hour, and remove it from the mold. Let the plaster hand dry for 24 hours.
-
8
Use one-part epoxy adhesive to glue the plaster hand at the wrist to a block of stained or painted wood so the hand is upright. Let the glue dry for 24 hours. Paint the plaster hand with acrylics using a paint sponge or cover it with a glove to complete the display.
