How to Close an Application in Mac if It's Hanging

Applications on Mac computers will sometimes hang for various reasons, including too many programs running at once or an incompatibly problem. If the application fails to properly function after waiting 30 seconds to a minute, force quite and close the program so that you can continue using your computer.
