Instructions

    • 1

Sprinkle your counter top and rolling pin with cornstarch. This will help prevent the fondant from sticking while you are working with it.

    • 2

Place fondant in the color you want your owl body to be on your counter top. Roll the fondant out to 1/8-inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter or a sharp paring knife to cut an oval shape out of the fondant for the owl's body and two triangle shapes out of the fondant for the owl's ears.

    • 3

Roll out some white fondant and cut out two circles for the owl's eyes.

    • 4

Roll out black fondant and cut out two tiny circles to complete the owl's eyes.

    • 5

Roll out your final fondant color and cut out a tiny triangle for the owl's nose.

    • 6

Dampen your pastry brush and moisten the triangle ears, then attach them to the back of the owl's body. Place the owl shape down on the counter top. Brush the white eye shapes with the pastry brush and place them on the top section of the owl body. Do the same with the black eye pieces and place them in the center of the white eye shapes. Brush the back of the beak triangle and place it just below the eyes with the point facing down.
