How to Build a Barbie Sink
Building accessories to go inside your Barbie dollhouse will add a realistic element to your house. A sink is an essential piece of bathroom equipment that you can build in 3D to suit the height of your Barbie and mix with the color scheme of the house. The sink is easily constructed using a range of materials and methods and a water effect can even be added for authenticity.
Things You'll Need
- Cardboard (letter sized)
- Scissors
- Acrylic craft paint, colored
- 1-by-1-inch-hardening sculpting clay
- Large circular bottle top or cap
- Plastic rod, approximately 6 inches tall
- Superglue
- Sticky tack, 1/2-inch dab
Instructions

1
Cut a small cardboard base for your sink to stand on. The base should be circular, about half the size of your sink and will sit on the floor, acting as a support for the sink basin and rod.
-
2
Stick the base to the floor of your dollhouse, or sticky tack if you would like it to remain movable. Cut the plastic rod to size, roughly the hand level of your Barbie when she is standing up, and glue the bottom of the rod to the base, just away from the wall.

3
Put a dab of glue on the top of the plastic rod and attach the large bottle top or cap which will rest against the back wall. You can glue it to the wall but it will stand freely for support when glued to the top of the metal rod.

4
Paint the base, plastic rod and sink basin in the desired colors and leave to dry overnight.

5
Mold faucets from the sculpting clay in colors to match your color scheme. Make two bendy shapes with a little cross on top. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for half an hour. Leave it to cool for two hours and attach with glue to the top back of the sink basin, one on either side.

Tips & Warnings
Glue a piece of blue paper, film or material to the bottom of your sink to represent water.
Be careful not to touch the sculpting clay or baking tray until it has fully cooled after removing from the oven.
