How to Decorate an Envelope in a Computer
When you are sending out a mass mailing, addressing each envelope by hand can be tedious and time-consuming. One of the benefits of word processing programs like Microsoft Word is that you have the ability to quickly print envelopes with all of the required information and with assembly-line efficiency. What many users do not realize is that you can also decorate your envelopes using a simple copy-and-paste method.

1
Click the Windows "Start" button on your desktop and open Microsoft Word, located under Microsoft Office. Click on the "Mailings" tab at the top of the screen. Copy the image you want to use to decorate your envelope from its location on your hard drive to your clipboard by right-clicking on the image and selecting "Copy" from the drop-down menu.
-
2
Right-click on the envelope-shaped document in Word and choose "paste" from the menu. Move the image around until you are satisfied with its location. Avoid placing the image in the customary address or return address locations; the lower right corner is often the best place.

Locate and click the "Envelopes" button on the menu below. Input the delivery address of the recipient and type your return address into the corresponding boxes exactly as you want them to appear. You can customize the text from the available menu options.

Click "File" and then click "Print." Look at the left side of the screen and find the "Envelope #10" menu option, which is for a standard business envelope. To choose a different size, click on the arrow to the right and make a selection from the drop-down menu.

5
Place blank envelopes in your printer's feed tray, aligned to the edge that displays measurements. If your printer has a sliding paper holder, slide it snug against the stack to hold the envelopes in place. Click to confirm the print job in Word and print your decorated envelopes.
