Instructions

    • 1

Press the yellow handle release foot lever on the left side of the vacuum. Recline the handle until it lays flat against the floor. Turn the vacuum over so that the bottom is facing up toward you.

    • 2

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the bottom plate onto the rest of the vacuum. Note that some Shark power pet vacuum models require you to remove two plates to access the belt cover.

    • 3

Unsnap the belt cover to access the brush bar, motor assembly and belt. Unseat and remove the brush bar; lift the right side of the bar first, then the left. Set the brush bar aside.

    • 4

Discard the broken or worn vacuum belt. Hook the replacement belt over the motor drive shaft. Slide the right side of the brush bar through the belt and then loop the belt over the agitator pulley. Seat both ends of the brush bar into the appropriate grooves on the inside of the vacuum.

    • 5

Turn the brush bar by hand to ensure that the belt is threaded correctly.

Tips & Warnings

  • Reverse the instructions to reassemble the vacuum.

  • Never attempt to replace your vacuum belt while it is plugged into an electrical outlet. Performing repairs on your vacuum while it is still plugged in can lead to serious injury.
