How to Use Music Features on a Media Center PC

You can organize your music library with great ease using the Media Center PC. It allows you to use variety of features from listening music files, adding them to the library and copying audio files by burning CDs. You can sort your library by categorizing the music into different folders and genre.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

To listen to the music using Media Center

Step1
Begin by pressing “start “button on the remote. Select ‘My Music’ on the screen.
Step2
Select songs by choosing ‘By Albums’, “By artist’, ‘By playlist’, ‘By song’, ‘By genre’ or ‘By searching’. These different set of criteria allow you to pick albums or songs of your choice. Press ‘Play’ button after making your selection.
Step3
Add subsequent songs you wish to listen to by selecting “Add to queue”. The selection will be played as soon as the earlier song is finished or is skipped.
Step4
Pick the visualization you wish to enhance your listening. Select ‘Visualize’. It will display images and various patterns to stimulate your listening experience.

To copy music from CDs

Step1
Insert the CD you wish to copy music from into the Media Center PC drive. The system will read the CD automatically and open its contents. A queue screen will be displayed.
Step2
Select ‘Copy CD’ on the queue screen. This will open a dialog box ‘Copy CD’. Click ‘Yes’
Step3
Monitor the copy. Media Center PC will begin copying the contents from the CD to your music library. After the copy is complete the CD will be ejected automatically

To add audio files to your music library

Step1
Press the “start” button on the remote. On the ‘My music’ screen press ‘more info’ tab
Step2
Select ‘Add Music’. This will display the ‘Add or Remove Folders’ screen. Select ‘Add folders’. Press ‘Next’.
Step3
Select ‘Add folders on this computer’ option. Make sure you have music files stored on your Media center PC. If you have them stored on other portable devices or other computers, choose “Add shared folders from another computer. Continue with ‘Next’ tab.
Step4
Select folders you wish to copy. Click next. Add other folders or files and select ‘Finish’. Choose ‘OK’.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can copy multiple CDs using this technique
  • Ensure the CDs inserted are audio CDs.
