NEC is one of the leading companies in DSL broadband technology and is now marketing in over 40 countries. NEC has also developed LCD and Plasma TV technology, and combining this technology with broadband solutions allows you to enjoy multimedia to its fullest. Here's how to compare the features of various LCD TV models offered by NEC.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Go to an authorized dealer for NEC models or check for information online.
Step2
Assess the space for mounting the new TV and the distance between the viewers and the TV model.
Step3
Decide your budget. This will help you before you begin comparing. NEC has a limited range of LCD TVs to offer as of now.
Step4
Distinguish between newer models and the models that have been more or less discontinued from the market. For example, currently NEC offers NEC LCD3210-BK LCD TV 32" HDTV, LCD4010-BK LCD TV 40" HDTV and LCD4610-BK LCD TV 46" HDTV, while older models such as LCD3000 LCD TV 30" HDTV and LCD4000 LCD TV 40" HDTV have been discontinued.
Step5
Decide on the size of TV you would like to buy. Always get a catalog for a single brand. Using a NEC catalog is easy because you can sequentially compare the technical aspects of each model.
Step6
Compare sound quality and picture quality for each. Small screen TV sets may have limited audio options but have superior picture quality.

Tips & Warnings

  • Read the owner’s manual for a detailed assessment of the features and specifications.
  • Viewing two different programs at the same time is possible with NEC 40” NLT-40WT as it is equipped with picture-in-picture function. Other models do not have this feature.
  • Check the warranty period that the company is providing. NEC TVs carry a warranty of 3 years for all models larger than 43cm or 17 inches.
  • Avoid comparing discontinued models as they will most likely have features that are non-scalable or non-upgradeable.
