Instructions

    • 1

Open the jacket to see if there is a removable liner. Remove the liner from the jacket, if applicable.

    • 2

Find a location on the jacket for the badge such as the front or back of the jacket. Look in a mirror with the jacket on to verify the placement of the badge is where you want it.

    • 3

Place the badge on the jacket and use a fabric pin to temporarily hold it in place.

    • 4

Measure out 15 to 18 inches of thread form the spool that is the same color as the badge. Cut the thread with the scissors.

    • 5

Place one end of the thread into the eye hole of the sewing needle. Tie a knot at each end of the thread.

    • 6

Insert the needle through the inside of the jacket and through one edge of the badge. Pull the thread all the way through until the knot catches. Make an overhead stitch and pull the thread all the way through the jacket. Continue threading the needle along the edge of the badge.

    • 7

Tie a knot in the thread on the inside of the jacket to prevent the thread from coming loose.

Tips & Warnings

  • Apply heat to the badge if it has an iron-on backing and if the jacket is fabric and not leather.

  • If you are putting a badge on a leather jacket, it will require sewing with thread.
