How to Heat Pre-cooked Apple Crepes

How to Heat Pre-cooked Apple Crepes thumbnail
Slope-sided crepe pans are ideal for heating filled crepes.

A proper crepe has a light texture and parchment-like thinness that can be easily damaged or overcooked through improper reheating. Heating precooked apple crepes requires gentle warmth because anything more results in a texture best likened to a rubbery pancake. A nonstick skillet or crepe pan is ideal for reheating filled crepes. They require no added fat to prevent sticking, which keeps the crepes moist but not soggy, and you don't need any utensils to remove the crepe from the pan -- simply slide the warmed apple crepe onto a waiting plate. Instructions

    • 1

Remove the crepes from the refrigerator and allow them to reach room temperature, approximately five minutes. Set a crepe pan or nonstick saute pan over low heat.

    • 2

Position the apple crepe in the pan seam-side down if rolled. Place it in the center of the pan in folded. Place a piece of aluminum foil loosely over the pan.

    • 3

Warm the crepe for 1-1/2 minutes, remove the foil and gently roll it on its other side. If the crepe is folded instead of rolled, use a spatula to turn it over. Cover with the foil and continue heating the crepe for 1-1/2 minutes.

Remove the foil and slide the crepe from the pan gently onto a plate.
