Do you want to record a TV program while watching another show? If you have more than one favorite show running at the same time on TV, you will not have to flip channels to catch up. Windows Media Center PC allows you to record a program while you watch another priority show. Record your favorite show while you watch your favorite team play live. You can also record shows which are scheduled to be aired at a later date.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Make sure your TV is on and you are watching it while it is connected to your Windows Media Center PC.
Step2
Find out if the Media Center PC is working properly. See that it was not sitting idle for a long time. Check all the buttons to see if they are operating smoothly.
Step3
Choose the "Record" button for the show you wish to record and flip through the channels using the remote control to the show you wish to watch later. This way you will be able to watch the show and also save the recording to watch later.
Step4
Preset the "Record" button at an earlier time. If you are aware of the clash beforehand, you can pre-program your Media Center PC to record either of the shows.
Step5
Select "My TV" and browse for the listing by selecting “Guide.” Search the keyword, find the program of your choice and select "Record." Pressing once will record the show, pressing twice will record the series.
Step6
Sit back and wait for your scheduled viewing. The other program will be recorded automatically.

Tips & Warnings

  • Learn the functions on your remote for quick operation. This way you can record shows while flipping channels in a jiffy.
