How to Troubleshoot the LG Spin Sense
Some of the older model LG washing machines offer several wash options that include the Spin Sense feature, which automatically reduces the vibration of the washing machine, especially when installed on wooden or other hard floors. These washing machines have other common features as well, such as a child lock, five cycles, five wash/rinse temperatures, a self-cleaning lint filter, automatic delay start and automatic water level adjustment. With so many sensors and automatic features, problems are more likely but can often be resolved through some troubleshooting. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Clean the drain filter if "OE" error appears. Set a dish under the access panel on the left bottom of the washer front and open the access panel. Remove the drain hose and allow it to drain into the container after removing the drain hose plug. Twist the pump filter to the left to open and clean away any debris or lint.
-
2
Make sure the water faucets are open if "IE" appears and clean the hose inlet filters to remove any blockages to the water flow.
-
-
3
Shut the washer door if "dE" appears and push "Start/Pause" to initiate the cycle, noting that it may take a few seconds for the washer to start.
-
4
Push "Drain & Spin" if "Door Lock" is illuminated and the wash cycle should be complete.
-
5
Push "Start/Pause" if there is a thumping or rattling noise coming from the LG washer. Open the washer and check inside for loose objects, such as keys or coins, and remove. Move the load around to redistribute the items if the load has gotten out of balance.
-
6
Watch the washer feet while the machine is in a spin cycle if the unit is vibrating to see whether all four feet remain in firm contact with the floor. If not, adjust the feet as needed. Flooring that flexes under the washer can be reinforced with a piece of ¾-inch plywood.
-
7
Press and hold the "Tub Clean/SpinSense" button for three seconds if the washing machine seems to be vibrating even after performing installation troubleshooting steps to reduce rattling or vibration.
-
8
Turn the hose connections clockwise one additional turn to verify tight connections if water is leaking. The household drain system may be clogged, so check that and contact a plumber if the entire drain system seems to be affected.
-
9
Purchase HE laundry detergent and pour to the "Max" line in the LG washer dispenser before each wash if other types of detergent are causing over-sudsing or leaking.
-
10
Wash light items apart from darks and take pieces out of the washer when the cycle is complete, as damp items left in the washer may bleed and cause staining.
-
11
Wipe the washer clean regularly to help reduce odor and use the recommended amount of detergent if the washer smells bad. Run the "Tub Clean" cycle on a regular basis and use HE detergent to reduce residue caused by regular detergent.
