How to Export and Save Your Favorites from Internet Explorer

Your Web favorites on your computer are easily exported and saved from Internet Explorer so that you can back up, share or use them on another computer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open an Internet Explorer window. Click on the “File” menu and select “Import and Export...”

  2. Step 2

    Click the “Next” button in the window that pops up. On the next screen, select “Export Favorites” and click “Next.”

  3. Step 3

    Choose specific folders to export if you want. Otherwise, just click “Next.”

  4. Step 4

    Click “Browse...” on the next screen. Name your favorites and choose where to put them. Then hit “Save.” Now click “Next.”

  5. Step 5

    Click "Finish" on the last screen. Now you are done, and your favorites are saved as an HTML file. You can open it on any computer with a Web browser and click on the links to go to each favorite. Or you can import them into the favorites or bookmarks menu of another computer.
