Include fruit and milk for a complete breakfast.

Toaster strudels are quick and easy fruit- or cheese-filled pastries prepared in the toaster or oven. When paired with fruit and a glass of milk, they make a convenient grab-and-go breakfast. However, due to high levels of refined carbohydrates and sugar, they should be consumed in moderation. Also, these sweet treats shouldn't be reserved only for breakfast; their convenience and nutritional value makes them an ideal dessert. They come complete with individual icing packets to take the toaster pastry experience to the next level. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Tear an individual icing packet apart from the others along the perforated lines. All of the icing packets come in the package joined together. Use caution when separating; if they begin to tear beyond the perforation, use scissors to avoid accidentally opening adjoining packages.

    • 2

Knead the packet until the icing is soft. The warmth of your hands will heat the icing to just the right temperature to easily squeeze it out of the packet. This action will also mix the icing in case any separation has occurred.

    • 3

Cut off the end of the frosting packet that appears to have a narrow tube. Remove just enough to expose the tip of the tube and allow the icing to pass through.

    • 4

Squeeze the frosting onto your hot toaster strudel in a back-and-forth motion. Evenly distribute the frosting over the entire pastry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not heat icing packets in the microwave. This will cause hot spots and increase the risk of burns.
