      Put the potted yellow mums in a location with bright light, but not direct sunlight. Choose a place close to a window or near a glass door.

      Check the soil daily and water the potted mum as needed to maintain moist, but not soggy soil. Add water until it flows from the bottom drainage holes of the container and then remove the excess water.

      Remove any ornamental wrapping on the potted yellow mums, or create four or more holes in the wrapping to permit proper drainage.

      Pinch or cut off any dead leaves or spent flowers. Do not fertilize the potted mum.

  • The ideal daytime temperature for potted mums is between 70 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit, and the best night time temperature is 10 to 15 degrees cooler.
