How to Read iBooks on Multiple Devices

One of the big advantages of iBooks is that you are not limited to one device. With the iBook Reader installed on your iPhone or iPad, you can download your iBooks to multiple devices and sync them between each. This will keep you from losing your place as you switch between your iPad and iPod. To set this up, you need to enable automatic downloads in iTunes on each computer linked to your device. Then you need to turn Sync on in you mobile device.

Instructions

ITunes Store

1. Start iTunes.

2. Select "iTunes," "Preferences" from the main menu to open the Preferences dialog box.

3. Click the "Store" tab to open the Store Preferences.

4. Mark the "Books" field under Automatic Downloads.

5. Click "OK."

6. Repeat these steps for each computer you have a mobile device associated to.

Mobile Device

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Select "iBooks" from the left column.

3. Switch "Sync Bookmarks" to On.

4. Switch "Sync Collections" to On.

5. Press the "Home" button to leave Settings.

6. Repeat these steps for each mobile device you have iBooks installed on.
