Basic dead makeup requires pale skin and dark eyes.

During the Halloween season, there's no rule that says your costume can't be both terrifying and fun. A dead cheerleader costume allows you to be slightly scary, but still throw in a few cheers for the sake of a laugh. If you want to dress as a dead cheerleader, all you need are a pair of pom-poms, a cheerleading uniform and the right makeup. There are several ways to approach making yourself look dead, but if you are looking for a simple corpse appearance the process is relatively straightforward. With a little bit of preparation you will be scaring the neighbors in no time.

Instructions

    • 1

Apply a foundation coat of very pale white Halloween or stage makeup using a large brush or makeup foundation pad. Blend the makeup so it's evenly distributed over your entire face. Corpses have no blood flow, so the paler you can make your skin, the better.

    • 2

Put dark black or purple eyeliner around your eyes. Blend this eyeliner with your fingers to create large, dark circles around your eyes, giving the impression of eyes that have sunken into a skull.

    • 3

Cover your lips with black or purple lipstick to finish off the dead look. You will want your lips as dark as possible to become a scary cheerleader.

    • 4

Add a few touches that sell your cheerleader image. Decrepit paint in your school's colors, player numbers on your cheeks, dashes of glitter around the eyes or small spirit stars all help add to the illusion you are trying to create.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can add a bloody wound or gash with a latex makeup kit if you want to add a gory touch to your cheerleader's story.

  • Do not forget the hair and eyes -- pigtails help sell your cheerleader image, and white contacts add the perfect touch to your look of death.
