How to Install "Grand Theft Auto 4" Mods to a PS3
"Grand Theft Auto IV" is a popular video game for the PS3 console. You play as an Eastern-European immigrant who has to complete missions to rise in the crime world. There is no shortage of weapons in the game, which allows you to wreak a lot of havoc. That being said, there are game mods you can install in the game that allow you to customize weapons to your liking.

Insert the GTA IV game disc in your PS3 and connect the external hard drive to the console via the USB ports on the front of the unit.

Use the directional pad to scroll to "Settings" in the main menu and press "X."

Select the "Backup" option and press "X." The system and GTA IV will backup to the hard drive.

Disconnect the hard drive when the status indicator on screen informs you that the backup is complete and connect the external drive to your computer via the USB cable.

Click on the hard drive icon and locate the file "HDD/GAMEZ/BLES-00229/PS3_GAME/USDR" in the external hard drive, and remove it from the hard drive.

Open the Web browser on your computer and navigate to a site that offers mods. Click on the site to download the mod.

Drag the mod file into the hard drive and unplug the hard drive from the computer.

Plug the hard drive back into the PS3 and launch a new GTA IV game. The mod you have downloaded will be in the game.
