Toga's make quick and easy costumes.

Whether for a costume party, Halloween, or just because they are really that comfortable, making yourself a traditional men's toga can be done in no time. Using a white bed sheet, you can quickly pin together an authentic-looking toga. Just as the Romans, Greeks and Egyptians used to wear, your toga outfit can be completed with some leather sandals and a crown of vines.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 twin size white bed sheet
  • 4 safety pins

Instructions

    • 1

Wrap the bed sheet around your waist. You may need to fold the sheet, depending on its size, so that it reaches your ankles when wrapped around your waist. Start at one hip and wrap it all the way around to the start point and then pin it in place using a safety pin snugly at the waist, leaving the remaining sheet free to be wrapped around your shoulder.

    • 2

Wrap the loose end around your shoulder. This should be the opposite shoulder to the hip you pinned it to in Step 1.

    • 3

Connect the loose end back to the site of the safety pin and pin again with a second safety pin.

    • 4

Pin the two extra safety pins inside the sash of your toga to use as spares in case of breakage.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add a crown made of vines or thin, tree branches formed into a crown to complete the look.

  • Leather sandals can also help complete the look.
