Instructions

    • 1

Purchase blank cards and envelopes. Choose blue stationery, if desired, to promote the pool party theme. Additionally, purchase accessories to dress up the card, depending on your taste. For instance, purchase blue or silver ribbon or textured stickers, such as felt bride and groom, wedding bells or wedding cake. Alternatively (or in addition), purchase blue or silver confetti to sprinkle inside the card.

    • 2

Design the front cover. Decorate the front cover, reserving information for the inside of the card. To decorate, place felt stickers of a bride and groom or of wedding bells on the front of the card. Stamp or write with calligraphy the initials or the names of the bride and groom on the front of card. Punch two adjacent holes through the paper, thread a ribbon through the hole and tie a ribbon.

Include the wedding details on the inside of the card. Specifically, list the bride and groom's full names, the date and time of the wedding, the location, the RSVP email contact and deadline and any other pertinent details, such as wedding registries or "no children" policies. Remind guests to bring a bathing suit. Use an acrylic stamp block for this information so that you do not have to individually stamp each letter for each card. Alternatively, use a word processor and print this information on a piece of white paper to insert inside the card.

Sprinkle confetti inside the card, if desired, or add any other finishing touches to the stationery. Insert the card inside the envelope and seal. Place a sticker or seal over the flap. Alternatively, stamp or write with calligraphy the initials of the bride and groom over the flap.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you allow guests to RSVP via email, you will save costs by not having to include stamped return envelopes.
