Deauthorize your iTunes Store Apple ID on your computer.

You can delink your iTunes Store Apple ID from authorized computers via a simple deauthorization process. The process should only take a few moments to complete and once done that computer will not longer be linked to your Apple ID. Alternatively, you can deauthorize all associated computers from linking to your Apple ID.

Instructions

  1. Deauthorize Single Computer

      Double-click the iTunes icon on your computer's desktop.

      Go to the "Store" menu on the top navigation bar and select "Deauthorize This Computer."

      Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted. Click the "Deauthorize" button. Your Apple ID is now unlinked from that computer.

    Deauthorize All Computers

      Open the iTunes software from your desktop.

      Click the "iTunes Store" link from the left sidebar.

      Click the "Account" button. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.

      Click the "Account" button again. Your Apple ID should appear and you are prompted to enter your password a second time.

      Go to the "Account Information" window and click the "Deauthorize All" button. This button will only appear when two or more computers are linked to your Apple ID. Your Apple ID is now unlinked from all previously associated computers.

Tips & Warnings

  • Per Apple policies, you can only use the "Deauthorize All" feature once a year.
