How to Get to the Fiery Path in "Pokemon Emerald"

In "Pokemon Emerald," Fiery Path is an underground tunnel that leads beneath Mount Chimney. Early in the game, this tunnel is your only means of reaching Route 113, which leads to Fallarbor Town. The cave is also home to Fire-type Pokemon that may be useful additions to your growing team of creatures.

Instructions

    • 1

Travel to Mauville City, a community in the center of the Hoenn mainland.

    • 2

Travel north onto Route 111. Numerous rival trainers line Route 111, and most of them use Pokemon below level 20. You must stop when you reach the desert area in the northern section of the route because you currently lack the Go-Goggles item, which allows you to see through the desert's sandstorms.

    • 3

Walk west onto Route 112. Several rival trainers will challenge you as you enter the route. Their Pokemon are below level 20.

    • 4

Follow the road as it leads northward up the stone stairs on Mount Chimney.

    • 5

Walk west to find the entrance to Fiery Path.

Tips & Warnings

  • If curiosity leads you northeast from the Fiery Path entrance, you will find the cable car station, which is blocked by members of a criminal organization. Later in the game, you can ride the cable car to the top of Mount Chimney.

  • Return to Fiery Path after you have the Strength ability. You can access extra parts of the cave by pushing boulders out of your way.

  • The yellow building south of the Route 112 entrance is the Winstrate House. Inside, a family of four Pokemon trainers will challenge you to battles. If you win, you will receive the Macho Brace item.

  • East of the Winstrate House is Trainer Hill, a tower filled with rival trainers.
