Make sure wax has dried before you try to remove it.
Step2
Take a butter knife and very carefully try to lift the hardened wax from the garment. Slide the knife down and then up under the wax. This may take a while but be patient. Make sure you remove all the hardened wax before moving on.
Step3
Sometimes there isnt a stain under the hardened wax but if there is you will need to pretreat it. Rub very gently with a soft cloth that has been dipped into warm water and mild soap. Rub in a circular motion. Let it saturate the garment.
Step4
Spray garment with pretreatment spray and let the spray soak for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash garment according to the care label.
Step5
This should remove the stain but if not repeat steps 3 and 4 before drying.
Tips & Warnings
Any dry clean only garment with candlewax should be taken to the drycleaners.

The way I remove candlewax is by putting my iron on Medium or low (depending on the fabric), placing a brown paper bag below and above the area with wax, then ironing. It may take several times going over with the iron to melt all of the wax into the bag, but it does actually work! Just keep moving the bag so a new area can soak u pthe wax as it penetrates into the bag as you're melting it with the iron.
