Tips & Warnings
Stain removers formulated for pet accidents are most effective at removing protein stains.
Do not use hot water, according to Ohio State University Extension, hot water "cooks" the protein, making the stain more difficult to remove.
Washing is the only way to remove a vomit stain and its odor. If your item is dry-clean only, it will have to washed, even if you take it to a dry cleaner. With washing dry-clean only items, there is a risk of color bleeding and shrinkage.
