DIY Snapping Deck Planks
Snapping deck planks are one of the easiest types of flooring that you can install yourself. Snapping planks are also known as snap together flooring. The name comes from the tongue and groove system on the edges of the planks that helps them snap together and lay flat against the deck surface, while also appearing thinner than they are because of the horizontal grooves. Once installed, the planks will be tightly in place, but you can easily remove and replace one should it become damaged. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Add a layer of underlayment to your deck surface. Secure the edges with tape.
-
2
Measure the width of your deck. Use snapping deck planks that will fit across this width without having to do any cutting. This will keep the tongue and groove system in place. Understand that you might have just a few inches of overhang.

-
3
Measure the length of your deck. Use a saw to cut the snapping deck planks to fit in rows along the deck.
-
4
Install the first row along one edge of the deck. The ends of different deck planks will lock together by placing the tongue into the groove.
-
5
Attach the next row by locking it in place with the tongue and groove system on the edge of the previous row. Tap the snapping planks together with a hammer and tapping block.
-
6
Continue the installation process until you get to the edge of the deck.
