How to Install Sunsetter Brackets
SunSetter awnings are a high-end shading solution for your deck or patio. Things You'll Need
- Measuring tape
- Stud finder
- Drill with 1/4 drill bit
- 3/8-by-4 inch lag bolts
- 9/16 socket

Choose a location to hang the bracket. Make sure it has no obstructions so the awning can be installed freely. Measure a mounting height no less than 7 feet 6 inches. Mark this height with chalk and mark an additional line 8 inches below that line. Mark the left and right ends of where the awning is going to hang along the top measurement.

Use a stud finder to locate the studs along the top measurement. Mark the center of each stud and measure the distance between each stud.

Hold the brackets where you are hanging them and adjust them so they rest over the wall studs. Start the mounting holes by placing the drill through the holes and drilling 3-½ inches deep using a ¼ drill bit. Predrilling the holes keeps the wood from splitting when tightening the lag bolts

Insert the 3/8 by 4-inch lag bolts through the drilled holes and use a 9/16 socket to tighten them. Repeat until all the brackets are installed.
