How to Troubleshoot an LG DLE2516W

The LG DLE2516W is an electric dryer that includes a sensor dry system, 7-cubic-foot capacity, five temperature levels, seven dry cycles, an electronic control panel and a wrinkle prevention cycle. While the dryer includes a user manual with purchase, this manual can get lost or misplaced, leaving you wondering what to do when problems arise with the dryer. Many basic problems with the LG dryer can be resolved through some basic troubleshooting.

Instructions

1. Confirm that the LG dryer power cord is pushed into the power outlet if the dryer is not starting, working or heating. A fuse or circuit breaker may need to be reset or replaced, particularly because electric dryers utilize two circuit breakers or fuses.

2. Dry clean, wet items only. Greasy spots can appear on clothing if clean and dirty items are put in the dryer together. Place fabric softener sheets in with the wet clothes at the start of the cycle. Do not add fabric softener sheets midcycle, and don't mix wet and dry items together.

3. Remove and clean the lint filter if the dryer runs for a long time, items seem damp or there is lint on items. Clean out pockets before washing or drying to eliminate paper items that can shred in the dryer.

4. Use fabric softener sheets, and select a shorter drying time if there is static in the clothes after drying.

5. Separate fabric types before drying if the dry time seems excessive, clean the lint filter and do not overload the dryer. Clean the household exhaust ducts, and make sure the vents and wall dampers are not obstructed.

6. Follow the fabric care instructions on the fabric tags if items are shrinking, and remove items immediately after the cycle completes if they are wrinkled.

7. Contact LG at 800-243-0000 if the error code "tE1" or "tE2" appears, indicating a problem with the dryer thermistor.
