How to Capture the Diamond in the Mud Maze

"Far Cry 2" is a first-person shooter with nonlinear play. In its competitive multiplayer mode, players can fight on a variety of maps and choose a variety of game types. One map is the Mud Maze, a complex, earthen labyrinth that twists and turns and has various levels made of stone or mud brick. The game mode Capture the Diamond is similar to Capture the Flag. In Capture the Diamond, a team must steal diamonds from the opponent's base and bring it back to their own base. The team that reaches the score limit first wins.

Instructions

1. Double-click on the icon of the game to launch it. Click on "Multiplayer." Click "Online" to play the game online with other players. Click "Join Match." Click on a match that indicates both the Capture the Diamond game type and the Mud Maze map.

2. Run for the enemy's base when the game begins. Look on your radar to find it.

3. Let a teammate cover you by wait for your teammate to stand stationary and shoot while you move forward toward the base. Hide behind the mud and dirt walls while your teammate gets ready to shoot. Run when your teammate begins shooting.

4. Enter the base circle and run over the Diamond to grab it.

5. Head back to your own base. Avoid enemy fire by zigzagging through the maze cut into the stone of the mountain or use the earthen walls for cover. Rely on your teammate to take out any enemies who are following you.

6. Return to your own base to "capture" the Diamond. Your team will get a point.
